Hello everyone, Shalom in Christ! Welcome again to the devotional program, “Joseph at the Marketplace” by GLOBAL REACHOUT. I am Tom Nohelty.
Day 19: Future-Looking Faith
Today, the Scripture is taken from: Genesis 50:24-25.
Theme verse:
“And Joseph said to his brothers, “I am about to die, but God will visit you and bring you up out of this land to the land that he swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.” Then Joseph made the sons of Israel swear, saying, “God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here.” ’Genesis 50: 24 – 25 (ESV)
If you were listing moments in Joseph’s life where he exhibited real faith, what would come to mind?
When Joseph’s name comes up in Hebrews 11, it’s for an incident that most of us probably wouldn’t list first: “By faith Joseph, when his end was near, spoke about the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt and gave instructions concerning the burial of his bones” (Hebrews 11:22)......
Time for Reflections.
1. How does your view of God stack up against the passage from Isaiah that you read today?
2. In Hebrews 11, Joseph is listed in the Hall of Faith. In what ways can you follow his example and have eyes of forward-looking faith at your workplace?
3. How could a big view of God change the way you look at challenges and setbacks in your workplace?
